Oman Air has announced the expansion of its Gulf Cooperation Council network with the launch of direct flights between Muscat and Abu Dhabi.

The route will operate from July 9 with one daily flight, offering passengers convenient travel options between the two capitals while providing seamless onward connections through one of the region’s leading aviation hubs.

The addition of Abu Dhabi as Oman Air’s 49th destination, and its tenth within the GCC,  reflects the airline’s commitment to strengthening regional connectivity and supporting passenger travel, trade and investment across the region.

Con Korfiatis, Chief Executive Officer of Oman Air, said that Abu Dhabi is a natural addition to the airline’s network as a regional centre for business and travel. He added that the new route will further strengthen the air connectivity that serves the Sultanate of Oman and the wider Gulf region.

He noted that the new service forms part of Oman Air’s ongoing GCC expansion strategy, following the launch of flights to Taif in January this year and ahead of the airline’s first direct service between Dubai and Salalah.

He added that, internationally, Oman Air is also preparing to launch new services to Singapore, Tashkent and Sochi during July.

He said these additions demonstrate Oman Air’s continued commitment to strengthening regional and international connectivity while supporting tourism growth and economic development in line with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040.
