New York: Oman participates in the signing of the "UN Charter 80" declaration

Oman took part in the 80th Anniversary symbolic signing of the UN Charter, an initiative organised by the United Nations General Assembly to mark United Nations Charter Day, the annual commemoration of the signing of the Charter of the United Nations on June 26 each year.

Oman was represented at the signing ceremony by Omar Said Omar Alkathiri, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Sultanate of Oman to the United Nations in New York. The initiative reaffirms a collective commitment to the principles and purposes of the United Nations Charter and strengthens multilateral action towards a more secure, just and sustainable future for generations to come.

Oman’s participation renews its steadfast commitment to the principles of the United Nations and its Charter. It also reflects its dedication to promoting the enduring values on which the Organisation was founded and its continued support for the UN’s efforts to maintain international peace and security, advance international cooperation in achieving sustainable development, protect human rights, and strengthen international cooperation based on equality and mutual respect.
