The Foreign Ministry expresses the Sultanate of Oman’s welcome of the announcement by Hans Grundberg, United Nations Special Envoy for Yemen, on the successful conclusion of the latest round of negotiations in Amman, Jordan, and the agreement reached by the parties concerned on the final lists for the release of more than 1,600 prisoners and detainees linked to the crisis in Yemen. This follows the agreement reached in Oman in December 2025.
Oman commends the efforts made by the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in hosting and supporting this round of negotiations.
It also expresses its appreciation for the efforts of the United Nations and the International Committee of the Red Cross, as well as the constructive engagement shown by the parties concerned in reaching this important humanitarian agreement.
Oman hopes this agreement will help to build confidence and create the conditions necessary to achieve reconciliation and peace in the sisterly Republic of Yemen.
