Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi received Andreas Motzfeldt Kravik, State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Norway.

The meeting reviewed cooperation between the two friendly countries and ways to develop that cooperation across various fields to promote mutual interests. It also addressed current regional and international developments, with an exchange of views on the importance of creating conditions conducive to de-escalation.

The meeting emphasised the importance of intensifying efforts to reduce tensions and the importance of supporting political and diplomatic solutions, in line with international law and the principles of the United Nations Charter, in order to promote the security and stability of the region.

The meeting also discussed developments related to the security and freedom of maritime navigation in the region, expressing support for efforts to safeguard the smooth flow of supply chains, to promote global economic stability.

The meeting highlighted the importance of continuing dialogue and coordination on issues of mutual interest, and of supporting efforts to enhance security, stability and peace in the region and the wider world.

The meeting was attended by Ambassador Mundher Almandhari, Head of the Ministry’s Europe Department; Kjersti Tromsdal, Norway’s Ambassador to Oman; and various officials from both Oman and Norway.

In a post on the social media platform X, Sayyid Badr Albusaidi said that Oman and Norway value dialogue deeply and would continue their efforts in support of peaceful outcomes. He added that he was looking forward to strengthening further this important relationship.
