Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi received this evening at the Foreign Ministry,  Jean-Noël Barrot, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the French Republic.

The meeting reviewed relations between the two friendly countries and highlighted the importance of building on the progress achieved across various fields.

There was also an exchange of views on a number of regional and international issues and developments, as well as Gulf French relations. They highlighted the importance of intensifying coordination, consultations and joint action in addressing current challenges, and the importance of contributing to confidence building and the resolution of conflicts through dialogue and diplomacy in a way that supports stability, peaceful coexistence and constructive cooperation among all countries in the region.

The Ministers discussed maritime navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and ways to strengthen global supply chains and to remove current obstacles to restore the smooth flow of international trade and support global economic stability.

The meeting was attended by Ambassador Mundher Al Mandhari, Head of the Ministry’s Europe Department; Nabil Hajlaoui, France’s Ambassador to Oman, and various officials from both countries.

In a post on the X social media platform Sayyid Badr said there had been extensive discussion on regional peace efforts and maritime solutions. He added that the meeting saw agreement on advancing bilateral ties with deeper economic and security cooperation.
