His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik held a phone call with his brother King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, of the Kingdom of Bahrain during which they discussed the latest developments in the Middle East crisis and the efforts underway to bring it to an end. They also discussed ways to secure maritime navigation.

The discussion highlighted the need to intensify regional and international efforts to protect the interests of states and ensure the safety of peoples. The two leaders also emphasised the need to resolve disputes through peaceful diplomatic means in accordance with the principles of international law, in a manner that guarantees respect for state sovereignty and reinforces regional and international peace and security.
