Asyad Group has announced its acquisition of Ligentia, a UK based company specialising in logistics services. The acquisition strengthens Asyad’s ability to deliver integrated, multimodal logistics solutions across the value chain.
This acquisition enhances Asyad’s diversified asset portfolio and expanding global network, extending its presence to 24 countries and 76 cities worldwide.
The deal includes Ligentia’s advanced “Ligentix” control and monitoring platform, which provides clients with real time visibility, integration with enterprise resource planning systems and predictive analytics. The platform supports Asyad’s strategy to adopt and develop advanced technologies, improving efficiency and strengthening confidence in its services.
This major transaction marks Asyad Group’s second international acquisition in less than two years, following its acquisition of Skybridge Freight Solutions in July 2024. It reflects a significant acceleration in the Group’s ambitious expansion strategy across major global economies and trade hubs.
The acquisition strengthens Asyad Group’s business portfolio in key international markets and enhances the competitiveness and position of Oman as a leading global logistics gateway.
Since its establishment, the Group has increased its revenues from OMR 123 million (USD 320 million) in 2016 to an estimated annual level exceeding OMR 800 million (USD 2.1 billion) in 2026. This reflects its ability to achieve sustainable growth and create opportunities through well planned investments, while maintaining operational efficiency and innovation.
Asyad’s maritime transport fleet has expanded from 52 vessels to more than 90, reaching more than 200 global ports across 60 countries. The Group has also expanded its portfolio of ports and free zones, logistics and freight operations, and infrastructure assets, including the dry dock project and the railway network project linking Oman and the United Arab Emirates.
Engineer Abdulrahman Al Hatmi, Chief Executive Officer of Asyad Group, said that the acquisition marks an important milestone in the Group’s journey as a global logistics provider. It strengthens its expansion plans in major international markets by integrating Ligentia’s advanced digital capabilities and global network with Asyad’s international logistics platform.
He added that this step reflects the Group’s commitment to delivering smart, integrated logistics solutions that create long term value for its clients and partners. It also supports Oman’s economic diversification plans by linking Omani ports and free and economic zones to global trade routes. This will create high quality opportunities for Omani companies and small and medium enterprises, generate skilled employment for citizens, increase trade volumes through maritime and air gateways and open new prospects for the Omani private sector, strengthening its access to international markets.
The acquisition will significantly enhance Asyad Group’s competitiveness by adding more than 6,000 new commercial clients and improving efficiency in delivering fourth party logistics services. This builds on Ligentia’s expertise in high value sectors such as retail, automotive, manufacturing and e-commerce, alongside integrated services for managing complex global supply chains supported by advanced technology and world class operational excellence.
A regional centre will also be established in Muscat to monitor and analyse supply chains, linking Ligentia’s global network with the advanced infrastructure of Omani ports, with the aim of attracting new trade flows.
