Anwar bin Hilal Al Jabri, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, met with Dr Khalifa Rajab, Acting Minister of Oil and Gas of the State of Libya, and Dr Suhail Bou Sheikha, Minister of Economy and Trade of the State of Libya.
The meeting reviewed ways to strengthen economic, trade and industrial cooperation and increase the volume of trade between the Sultanate of Oman and Libya.
The meeting also discussed ways to enhance integration in supply chains between the industrial sectors in both countries. The Ministers explored opportunities to strengthen industrial cooperation, attract investments and propose joint industrial projects in priority sectors. Discussions also covered investment in promising sectors, particularly energy, renewable energy and related industries. The meeting also considered organising specialised forums in sectors of common interest to attract Libyan investors to Oman.
The Ministers confirmed that discussions will continue on studying opportunities for joint industrial investments and identifying export opportunities for Omani products in the Libyan market.
Trade between Oman and Libya reached about OMR 19.5 million in 2025. Total Omani exports to Libya amounted to approximately OMR 19.3 million. Imports from Libya were around OMR 0.2 million.
Libyan investment in Oman has reached notable levels. Up to 2025 total invested capital reached about OMR 872.3 million across 368 companies involving 608 Libyan shareholders. The total value of Libyan contributions in these companies reached approximately OMR 335.49 million, representing about 78.8 per cent of the total invested capital.
The meeting was attended by Engineer Ghalib bin Said Al Maamari, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion for Commerce and Industry, along with a number of officials from both Oman and Libya.
