Oman welcomes Canada and Malta's intention to recognise Palestine

The Foreign Ministry expresses the Sultanate of Oman's welcome of the announcement by the Prime Ministers of Canada and Malta regarding their countries' intention to recognise the State of Palestine.

Oman welcomes this new diplomatic initiative, which constitutes concrete and serious progress toward affirming the Palestinian people's right to self-determination and a practical translation of the international will for a two-state solution and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, in order to achieve a just and lasting peace in the Middle East.
