
Oman at first summit for a sustainable and inclusive global economy
Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi led Oman’s delegation at the “First Biennial Summit for a Sustainable, Inclusive, and Resilient Economy”, held alongside the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly. He delivered a speech highlighting Oman’s efforts and achievements towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030, noting that the country has already accomplished 14 out of 17 goals, exceeding 82%.
He explained that Oman is working to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050 through renewable energy, green hydrogen production, and the circular and blue economy. He pointed to pioneering initiatives such as “Oman: A Sustainable Future”, the “Future of Oman Fund”, and the “Energy Transition Fund” established by the Oman Investment Authority to drive the shift towards clean energy.
In his remarks, the Sayyid Badr reaffirmed Oman’s commitment to strengthening partnerships with all countries, in line with the principles of its foreign policy based on peace, coexistence, tolerance and dialogue.
