Oman and Bulgaria hold first round of political consultations
The first round of political consultations between the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Bulgaria was held at the Foreign Ministry headquarters in Muscat.
The Omani delegation was led by Sheikh Khalifa Alharthy, Political Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry, while the Bulgarian delegation was headed by Maria Anguelieva, Deputy Foreign Minister of Bulgaria.
The consultations reviewed relations between the two friendly countries and reaffirmed a commitment to continue developing cooperation in all fields. Discussions also touched on the possibility of opening embassies in both countries, in addition to regional and international issues of common concern, including the consequences of the Israeli war on Gaza.
The session was attended by Ambassador Munthir bin Mahfoudh Al Manthri, Head of the Europe Department; Ambassador Todor Stoyanov, Director General for Bilateral Relations at the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry, as well as a number of officials from both countries.
