Netherlands: Oman at meeting on prohibition of chemical weapons
Oman took part in the opening of the thirtieth meeting of the Conference of States Parties to the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) in The Hague in the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The Conference runs until November 28 with wide participation from member states and representatives of relevant international organisations.
Oman’s delegation was led by Sheikh Abdullah Alharthy, Oman’s ambassador to the Kingdom of the Netherlands and permanent representative to the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons.
Oman’s participation reflects its firm commitment to international efforts that promote global peace and security and its longstanding position in support of the full and effective implementation of the Chemical Weapons Convention.
It also highlights Oman’s dedication to strengthening technical cooperation and capacity development with the OPCW and the participating delegations to advance the goals of the Convention and help ensure a world free of chemical threats.
