Minister visits Grand Egyptian Museum in Cairo

As part of his official visit to the sisterly Arab Republic of Egypt, Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi visited the Grand Egyptian Museum. During the visit, he viewed the museum’s rare archaeological collections, which reflect the depth of Egyptian civilisation and its historic contributions to humanity.

During the tour, he viewed a number of prominent artefacts, including the statue of King Ramses II, the famous collection of King Tutankhamun and the solar boats of King Khufu, as well as antiquities dating back to the Old and Middle Kingdoms. These exhibits reflect the development of art, architecture and thought in ancient Egyptian civilisation.

The Foreign Minister also listened to a detailed briefing on the museum’s sections and contents and the exhibits that document different historical periods of Egyptian civilisation, alongside the efforts made to apply the latest museum display methods.

Sayyid Badr Albusaidi praised the cultural and civilisational role of the museum in showcasing the historical heritage of the Arab Republic of Egypt. He underlined the importance of strengthening cultural cooperation between the Sultanate of Oman and the Arab Republic of Egypt in a way that supports civilisational integration and knowledge exchange between the two brotherly countries.
