Minister meets Angolan Minister of External Relations

Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi met with Téte António, Minister of External Relations of the Republic of Angola, alongside the celebrations held in the capital, Luanda, to mark the 50th anniversary of Angola’s independence .

The meeting reviewed relations between the Sultanate of Oman and Angola and discussed ways to enhance them across political, economic and investment fields, particularly in energy, minerals, maritime transport and logistics.

The two Ministers also explored prospects for cooperation in agriculture, education and diplomatic training, noting the promising opportunities to strengthen cooperation in these areas in ways that  support the efforts of both countries to diversify their economies and expand partnerships with friendly nations.

The discussions also touched on the outcomes of President João Lourenço of the Republic of Angola’s visit to the Sultanate of Oman in December 2024, which represented an important milestone in the course of relations, contributing to broadening cooperation and enhancing communication between government entities and the private sector. The two delegations stressed the importance of building on the achievements of that visit.

The Ministers emphasised the importance of maintaining coordination and consultation between the two foreign ministries to follow up on existing areas of cooperation and expand them to include new priority sectors. They also recognised the value of exchanging views on regional and international issues of mutual interest, in a way that strengthens both countries’ contribution to promoting stability and development at the regional and international levels.
