Minister meets Mauritanian counterpart in New York

Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi held a meeting in New York with Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation with Africa and Mauritanians Abroad of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, on the margins of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

The meeting reviewed the course of friendship and cooperation between Oman and Mauritania, with an emphasis on strengthening ties in economic, investment, educational and cultural fields. The Ministers also agreed to continue coordination in multilateral frameworks, particularly within the Arab League and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation.

They exchanged views on regional and international developments and affirmed the importance of continued consultation to promote security and stability and to support efforts aimed at addressing humanitarian crises.

The meeting was attended by officials from both Oman and Mauritania.
