His Majesty receives message from Comoros President
His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik received a written message from President Azali Assoumani of the Union of the Comoros regarding relations between the two brotherly countries.
Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi received the message during a meeting at the Foreign Ministry with Mbae Mohamed, Foreign Minister and envoy of the Comoros President.
The Minister conveyed the greetings of the Comoros President and his best wishes to His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik for continued health, wellbeing and a long life, and to the Omani people for further progress and prosperity.
In return, Sayyid Badr Albusaidi asked the guest to convey His Majesty the Sultan's greetings to the President of the Union of the Comoros, along with His Majesty’s warm wishes for his happiness and continued success, and for the Comorian people’s sustained growth and development.
The meeting also discussed the historical ties and brotherly cooperation between the Sultanate of Oman and the Union of the Comoros.
The ministers exchanged views on ways to enhance partnership in economic sectors, especially food security, transport and tourism, in a manner that benefits both countries.
They also discussed several regional and international issues of mutual concern, as well as efforts to promote peace, harmony, and stability across the world.
The meeting was attended by Sheikh Khalifa Alharthy, Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Political Affairs, and a number of officials from both delegations.
