His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik held a fraternal meeting at Al Baraka Palace with his brother Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al Sabah, Emir of the State of Kuwait.

The meeting reviewed opportunities to strengthen partnership and investment between Oman and Kuwait across various sectors and discussed issues of mutual interest. It affirmed the importance of opening new avenues for economic, trade and investment cooperation to meet the aspirations of the Omani and Kuwaiti peoples.

The meeting was attended from Oman by: His Highness Sayyid Shihab bin Tariq Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs; His Highness Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham Al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth; Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court; Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal Al Busaidi, Minister of Interior; Dr Hamad bin Said Al Aufi, Head of the Private Office; Abdul Salam bin Mohammed Al Murshidi, President of the Oman Investment Authority; and Engineer Salim bin Nasser Al Aufi, Minister of Energy and Minerals.

The meeting was attended from Kuwait by: Sheikh Abdullah Ali Al-Salem Al-Sabah, Minister of Defence; Sheikh Dr Meshaal Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Director General of the Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority; Lieutenant General (Retd) Jamal Mohammed Al-Dhiyab, Director of the Office of His Highness the Amir; Sheikh Nawaf Saud Al-Nasser Al-Sabah, Deputy Chairman and CEO of the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation; Sheikh Saud Salem Abdulaziz Al-Sabah, Managing Director of the Public Investment Authority; and Dr Mohammed Nasser Al Hajri, Kuwait's Ambassador  to Oman.

Earlier, His Majesty was at the forefront of those receiving the Emir of Kuwait upon his arrival at the Royal Airport for a private fraternal visit to the Sultanate of Oman.
