His Majesty holds private meeting with King of Spain

His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and His Majesty King Felipe VI of the Kingdom of Spain held a private meeting at Zarzuela Palace in Madrid, attended by Her Majesty Queen Letizia. The meeting saw an exchange of views on current regional and international developments and underscored the importance of broadening areas of partnership and investment to strengthen the economies of both countries.

During the visit, His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and His Majesty King Felipe VI exchanged decorations and commemorative gifts.

His Majesty conferred upon King Felipe VI the “Order of Al Said” in recognition of the deep friendship between the two countries, and bestowed upon Queen Letizia the “Order of Oman, First Class”. His Majesty also granted royal decorations to a number of Spanish figures.

For his part, King Felipe VI conferred upon His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik the “Order of Isabella the Catholic”, Spain’s highest royal decoration, in appreciation of His Majesty and as a testament to the strong relations between the two nations. The King also honoured members of His Majesty’s official delegation with royal decorations, in addition to the exchange of commemorative gifts between the two delegations.
