Minister and Japanese counterpart hold bilateral meeting

Sayyid Badr Albusaidi, Foreign Minister held a bilateral meeting with Takeshi Iwaya, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan.

The meeting took place on the side-lines of the second joint ministerial meeting of the strategic dialogue between the GCC Foreign Ministers and the Japanese Foreign Minister.

The meeting discussed aspects of cooperation between the two friendly countries and ways to enhance it across various fields, particularly in the economic, trade, and investment sectors, to strengthen the existing partnership and serve the common interests of both nations.

The two Ministers affirmed their shared stance on the importance of finding a permanent and just solution to the Palestinian issue, ending the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip, and supporting the two-state solution in accordance with relevant international resolutions. They underlined the necessity of respecting international law and ensuring the protection of civilians.

They also also exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues of mutual interest and reiterated their commitment to sustaining coordination and making all possible efforts toward enhancing regional security and stability.

The meeting was attended by officials from both Oman and Japan.
