The Sultanate of Oman signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Board of Trustees of the Royal Botanic Gardens Kew in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to carry out joint scientific studies on Omani plants, document their diversity, publish research and develop specialised training programmes that build national expertise in environmental education and plant conservation.

Sayyid Badr explained the fundamentals of Oman’s foreign policy and its role in enhancing efforts for peace and stability.

The meeting took place in Bahrain on the sidelines of the Manama Dialogue.

The Royal Geographical Society in London hosted a lecture titled “The Scent of Time: Omani Frankincense from Antiquity to Innovation.” The lecture, organised by the British Omani Society and  sponsored by Amouage, highlighted the rich heritage and historical significance of Omani frankincense.

They discussed regional and international efforts to promote stability in the region.

Mr Evans captivated the distinguished audience with a presentation on his latest “Jewel of Arabia Expedition”.

The meeting reviewed relations and discussed ways to further strengthen them.

Sheikh Khalifa commended the distinguished relations between Oman and the United Kingdom.

The Royal Navy of Oman (RNO) Shabab Oman II, received a number of senior officials and diplomats, while docked at Portsmouth in the United Kingdom. The ship welcomed Badr  Almantheri, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the United Kingdom; Councillor Gerald Vernon-Jackson, the Mayor of Portsmouth; Vice Admiral Martin Connell, Deputy Chief of Staff of the UK’s Royal Navy;

Ambassador Badr Almantheri, Oman’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom, received the Omani team of innovators participating in the  London International Youth Science Forum (LIYSF). The Ambassador welcomed the innovators and wished them continued success.

Oman reaffirms its call for the remaining members of the international community to take similar steps.

The selection of the projects reflects the scientific excellence achieved by Omani youth.

The meeting addressed regional and international issues, with His Majesty welcoming the UK’s intention to recognise the Palestinian state.

The two Ministers exchanged views on the Iranian nuclear issue and ways to revive the diplomatic track.

The meeting took place during His Majesty’s current private visit to the UK.
