The Sultanate of Oman emphasised the importance of adhering to the standards outlined in the High Commissioner for Human Rights‘ report on the situation in the Occupied Palestinian Territories. The High Commissioner’s report called for the unconditional withdrawal of the Israeli occupation from Gaza and rejected any attempt to undermine the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people. The statement affirms Oman’s firm support for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.

The Ministers stressed the importance of unified Arab positions to establish the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.

The Sultanate warns that any attempt to transfer Palestinians from their lands would constitute a flagrant violation of international law.

Speaking in Muscat, Sayyid Badr Albusaidi also expressed concern at the rise of antagonism and hate speech on the world stage.

The Sultanate calls on the international community to take urgent action to put an end to these ongoing attacks.

The statement says the agreement will help alleviate the human suffering in Gaza.

The Acting Head of Oman’s Mission to Palestine, Abdullah Al Haddad, met with Hussein Al Sheikh, Secretary General  of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organisation. The meeting addressed the current situation and developments in Palestine and the close relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the State of Palestine. First Secretary Khamis Al Saadi also attended the meeting.

The Ministers exchanged views on international issues, including the Palestinian cause and efforts to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza.

An official statement says this act disregards international calls for a ceasefire and international humanitarian law.

The GCC leaders commended the efforts of Oman and Saudi Arabia to revive the political process in Yemen.
