Abdullah Alhaddad, head of Oman’s mission to Palestine, received Issam Al Qaddoumi, Secretary-General of the Higher Council for Youth and Sports, accompanied by the Deputy Secretary of the Council. The meeting reviewed relations between the two brotherly countries and discussed the latest developments in the Palestinian arena. The meeting was attended by First Secretary Saif Alsalti.

The meeting discussed ways to implement the New York Declaration.

Oman, with 14 Arab and Islamic countries, the Arab League, and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, condemn the Israeli Knesset’s approval of “Israeli sovereignty” over the occupied West Bank.

The summit witnessed the signing of the historic peace plan to consolidate the ceasefire in Gaza.

The agreement contributes to halting the war, the release of prisoners and detainees from both sides.

Abdullah Alhaddad, Head of the Sultanate of Oman’s Mission to Palestine, attended the National Conference on the Preservation, Protection and Sustainability of Palestinian Heritage, at the invitation of Dr Imad Abdullah Hamdan, Minister of Culture. The conference was attended by Ministers and senior officials from the Palestinian government.

The Ministry thanks Jordan and friendly countries that contributed to the success of this humanitarian effort.

Oman hopes these efforts will result in the urgent and effective delivery of humanitarian aid to the Palestinians, and in laying the foundation for peace.

The Ministry is working actively to ensure the safe return of Omani citizens involved to the homeland.

Oman affirms that such inhumane acts, reveal a deliberate policy of using starvation as a weapon of war.

Oman renews its call on the international community, and the UN Security Council, to take decisive measures to protect civilians.

The Sultanate called for an immediate, and permanent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, rejecting the policy of collective punishment.

The joint statement strongly condemns Benjamin Netanyahu’s remarks on the so-called “Greater Israel” as a blatant violation of international law.
