The Italian Golf Federation and the Italian Professional Golfers Association honoured the Oman Golf Trophy during the 2025 Italian Golf Awards ceremony. The Federation recognised the championship as one of the most prominent sporting events, resonating widely among Italian sports elites.

The tournament aimed to use golf to strengthen diplomatic, trade and cultural relations.

The Oman Golf Trophy 2024 has completed the three rounds held in the Republic of India, in the presence of Issa Saleh Abdullah Alshibani, Oman’s Ambassador to India. The three rounds saw the qualification of six winners to participate in the final of the tournament, which will be held in Muscat next week.

The Oman Golf Trophy 2024 concluded its rounds in Austria, with a total of 3,000 participants across 36 rounds. 10 winners qualified to participate in the tournament’s final in Muscat.  

Oman’s Ambassador to India, Issa Saleh Abdullah Saleh Alshibani, met the Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Mansukh Mandaviya. They discussed relevant areas of cooperation between the two countries and also touched on the second edition of the Oman Golf Trophy initiative which will take place in Mumbai, Hyderabad and New Delhi starting next month.

The Oman Golf Trophy continued with the first round to be held in Japan. The launch of its 61st round was attended by Oman’s Ambassador in Tokyo and a number of enthusiasts.

This year’s event builds on the success last year’s inaugural competition.
