Ambassador Abdullah Alrahbi head of the Sultanate of Oman mission in Cairo and Oman’s Representative to League of Arab States chaired Oman’s delegation to the 29th session of the Council of Arab Ministers for Communications and Information, held in Cairo. He led the delegation on behalf of Engineer Saeed bin Hamoud Al Maawali, Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology.

The Deputy Head of the Sultanate of Oman’s Mission to the World Trade Organization in Geneva participated in the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland. The Deputy Head of Mission visited the pavilions of the sister GCC countries.

The Omani Human Rights Committee organised an event at the Palais of Nations in Geneva to present the Omani human rights experience and to highlight its role in the promotion and protection of human rights. The event also aimed to open avenues of dialogue with international partners, and to exchange best practice and experiences with international institutions and bodies concerned

The Head of the Mission of the Sultanate of Oman to Hungary, Malallah Albalushi, attended the annual reception hosted by President Tamás Sulyok for heads of accredited diplomatic missions, on the occasion of the New Year 2026. The Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in Washington took part in the Washington Energy Industry Forum, represented by Abdullah Altouqi. The forum was attended by Chris Wright, US Secretary of Energy, along with senior leaders from the energy sector. The forum discussed the future of energy and the formulation of related policies.    

Mohammed bin Mirza, Deputy Permanent Representative of the Sultanate of Oman to the UN and other organisations in Geneva , attended a diplomatic briefing organised by the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Azerbaijan on preparations for the convening of the thirteenth session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13).

Issa Abdullah Alalawi, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Thailand,  received Patrawin Chuangvisal, Chief Executive Officer of Marsun, a leading shipbuilding company. The meeting formed part of efforts to strengthen engagement with the Thai private sector.

Representatives of South Korean travel and tourism companies taking part in a forthcoming tour to the Sultanate of Oman visited the Embassy of Oman in South Korea. The visit, from January 15 to 22, is being organised by the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism.

Hamad Alhajri, representing the Sultanate of Oman,  took part in Jeddah in the senior officials’ preparatory meeting for the 22nd Extraordinary Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the member states of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). The meeting reviewed the situation in the Federal Republic of Somalia and the implications of Israel’s recognition of the so-called Somaliland.
