Muhammet Hekimoğlu

Born in 1970 in Trabzon, Ambassador Hekimoğlu completed his primary, secondary and high school education in Trabzon. He graduated from Atatürk University Faculty of Arts and Sciences Department of Arabic Language and Literature in 1990. He completed his master’s degree in Kırıkkale University Social Sciences Institute Eastern Languages and Literatures (Arabic Language and Literature) Department in 1998, and his PhD in Ankara University Social Sciences Institute Eastern Languages and Literatures (Arabic Language and Literature) Department in 2005. He received the titles of Associate Professor in 2010 and Professor in 2018.
He worked at Kırıkkale University and Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University as a lecturer before being assigned as the Deputy President of Atatürk Supreme Council for Culture, Language and History between 2013 and 2019, and President of Atatürk Cultural Center from 2016 to 2019. Then, he was appointed as the President of the Atatürk Supreme Council for Culture, Language and History with the Presidential Decision No. 2020/168.
Appointed as the 12th Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to the Sultanate of Oman with the Presidential Decision No. 2022/643, Hekimoğlu is married with three children.
