His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik paid a special fraternal visit to the United Arab Emirates, during which he met Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, at Al Shati palace in Abu Dhabi.
During the meeting, the two leaders discussed the longstanding historical relations and close ties between the two countries. They explored ways to strengthen and develop these relations across various fields in support of mutual interests and the aspirations of the Omani and Emirati peoples.
They also exchanged views on issues of common interest and discussed regional and international developments, as well as ways to advance security and stability.
The meeting was attended from the Sultanate of Oman by His Highness Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs; His Highness Sayyid Bilarab bin Haitham Al Said, Minister of State and Governor of Muscat; Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court; General Sultan bin Mohammed Al Nomani, Minister of the Royal Office; Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal Al Busaidi, Minister of Interior; Engineer Said bin Hamoud Al Maawali, Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology; Sayyid Dr Sultan bin Yarub Al Busaidi, Adviser at the Private Office and Sayyid Dr Ahmed bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Oman’s Ambassador to the UAE.
Attending from the United Arab Emirates were Sheikh Surour bin Mohammed Al Nahyan; Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance; Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs; Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs; Sheikh Zayed bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan; and Ambassador Sheikh Mohammed bin Maktoum Al Maktoum, the UAE’s Ambassador to Oman as well as other officials.
The UAE President led those welcoming His Majesty on his arrival at the Presidential Airport in Abu Dhabi and bidding him farewell on his departure. He was accompanied by senior officials.
