The Sultanate of Oman participated in the 137th session of the Council of the  International Maritime Organization (IMO), which was held at the IMO headquarters in London.

The delegation of Oman was headed by Engineer Khamis Mohammed Al Shamakhi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology for Transport, with the participation of representatives from military and civil entities concerned with the maritime sector.

Oman’s  participation affirms of its active role within the International Maritime Organization.

It highlights its work in enhancing the security and safety of maritime navigation, protecting international sea lanes, and supporting international cooperation to ensure the smooth flow of global trade and the sustainability of maritime transport.
