The United States Embassy in Muscat hosted a reception to mark the 250th anniversary of the independence of the United States of America, celebrating the longstanding partnership and future cooperation between the United States and the Sultanate of Oman.
US Ambassador Ana Escrogima said the partnership between the United States and Oman forms an integral part of their shared history.
She said the occasion celebrates a fruitful cooperation built over decades, and strengthened by firm and mutually beneficial ties that have helped advance security and prosperity in the region and across the world.
The ceremony, held at the Diplomatic Club, reviewed milestones in the history of relations between the two friendly countries. It included the screening of a short film titled “From the Sea to the Stars”, which highlighted the development of US Omani relations.
The event also featured an exhibition titled “The Founders”, telling the story of American independence and tracing the development of relations with Oman.
The ceremony was attended by Ministers, Ambassadors, heads of diplomatic missions to Oman, officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and representatives of the private sector.
