His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, received a telephone call from Dr Masoud Pezeshkian, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Their discussions reviewed relations between the two countries and avenues for their enhancement. They also discussed the latest developments and evolving circumstances, as well as ongoing efforts to achieve de-escalation.

His Majesty reaffirmed the Sultanate of Oman’s commitment to its principled position of neutrality, expressing Oman’s disapproval and unequivocal condemnation of the continued targeting of its territories. His Majesty  underscored that all necessary measures are being taken to safeguard its security and stability.

Both leaders emphasised the imperative of ending the escalation and prioritising the language of dialogue and diplomacy, in order to spare the region the ramifications of a conflict that threatens the security and stability of nations.

In a later post on the X social media platform, Oman’s Foreign Minister, Sayyid Badr Albusaidi, reaffirmed Oman’s neutrality.

“Our neutrality stands for the cause of peace: the cornerstone of our national security and our unique gift to the world,” he said.
