Sayyid Badr Albusaidi, Foreign Minister, received a phone call from Dr Abbas Araghchi, Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

During the call, Dr Araghchi expressed his country’s appreciation for the Sultanate of Oman’s constructive role and its continuous diplomatic efforts aimed at defusing the current crisis and returning to the path of dialogue and negotiation.

Dr Araghchi also conveyed the Islamic Republic of Iran’s position calling for peace, noting that the Israeli-American attack on his country was the cause of escalating tension and panic in the region. He emphasised Iran’s openness to any serious efforts that contribute to de-escalation and the restoration of stability.

In response, Sayyid Badr reaffirmed the Sultanate of Oman’s continued call for:

• An immediate ceasefire.
• A return to dialogue and negotiation to resolve the ongoing conflict diplomatically,
• Achieving the legitimate demands of all parties involved.

Oman’s Foreign Minister also urged Iran to exercise restraint and avoid any actions that could undermine or disturb good neighbourly relations.
