Diplomatic Academy holds workshops on low carbon investment opportunities

The Diplomatic Academy holds introductory workshops in cooperation with the Oman Net Zero Centre

Introductory workshops were held at the Diplomatic Academy of the Foreign Ministry, in cooperation with the Oman Net Zero Centre of the Ministry of Energy and Minerals to highlight promising investment opportunities in low carbon technologies and clean energy.

The workshops targeted heads of diplomatic missions to the Sultanate of Oman and their accredited representatives. The initiative aims to support national efforts to attract investment linked to net zero programmes and developments.

The initiative also aims to support the Foreign Ministry’s diplomatic role in promoting Oman’s strategic direction in reducing carbon emissions, and to strengthen Oman’s position as an attractive destination for investment in sectors related to energy transition and climate action.

The workshops reviewed the work of the Oman Net Zero Centre and its role in supporting the national transition towards achieving net zero targets. They also outlined relevant national, regional and international dimensions, discussing key investment opportunities across various sectors.

The sessions also addressed coordination mechanisms between the Centre and the Foreign Ministry, exploring ways to strengthen cooperation with partner countries to achieve net zero targets by 2050, in line with Oman Vision 2040.

The sessions were attended by Mohsen bin Hamad Alhadhrami, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Minerals; Sheikh Humaid Almaani, Head of the Diplomatic Academy, along with a number of officials.
