Minister holds consultative meeting with US President’s Special Envoy

Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi held a consultative meeting in Geneva with Steve Witkoff, Special Envoy of the President of the United States, and Jared Kushner ahead of the latest round of Iranian–American negotiations held in Geneva under the auspices of the Sultanate of Oman.

The meeting reviewed the broader context surrounding the negotiations and examined the requirements for their success across political and technical tracks. The discussions were held in a realistic and constructive spirit that supports prospects for reaching understandings aligned with the objectives of the talks, which concluded with tangible progress paving the way for their continuation soon.

Commenting on the X social media platform Sayyid Badr said that serious efforts were made to define a number of guiding principles for a final deal. He said the contribution of the IAEA Director General, Rafael Grossi, was much appreciated.

“Much work is yet to be done, and the parties left with clear next steps before the next meeting,” he added.
