Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi met in Geneva with Ignazio Cassis, Vice President of the Federal Council and Head of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of Switzerland. The meeting took place during the Foreign Minister’s visit for the Iranian American negotiations hosted by Switzerland under Omani auspices.
Sayyid Badr expressed his appreciation to the Swiss government for its support and the various facilities provided to create a suitable environment for the indirect negotiations between Iran and the US.
Ignazio Cassis expressed his country’s appreciation for the important and responsible role played by Oman in supporting dialogue and facilitating negotiations to enhance opportunities for peaceful solutions.
The Minister and Head of the FDFA also affirmed the friendly relations, cooperation and mutual respect between Oman and Switzerland. They confirmed their shared keenness to support and develop these ties across all fields in ways that bring further benefits to both countries and peoples and strengthen common interests.
The meeting was attended by Mahmoud bin Hamad Alhasani, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Swiss Confederation, Ambassador Idris Abdul Rahman Alkhanjari, Oman’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations and international organisations in Geneva, and a number of officials from both countries.
