The Sultanate of Oman is participating for the first time in SIAL Paris 2026, the international food industry exhibition held in the French capital. Its national pavilion brings together seven Omani food industry companies and four government entities. The pavilion aims to showcase the quality of national products, strengthen their presence in international markets and open new opportunities for trade and export cooperation.
SIAL Paris is one of the world’s leading trade exhibitions specialising in the food and beverage sector. It brings together every stage of the food value chain, from production, manufacturing and packaging to distribution, marketing and food product innovation.
Ambassador Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Araimi, Oman’s Ambassador to the French Republic, said Oman’s participation in SIAL Paris reflected its commitment to strengthening its economic and commercial presence at international events and expanding cooperation and partnership with friendly countries, particularly the French Republic.
The Ambassador said Oman’s presence at this prominent international event provided an opportunity to showcase Oman’s progress in food manufacturing, highlight the quality and competitiveness of national products and explore opportunities for access to French and European markets. It also enabled direct engagement with companies, importers, distributors and investors, as well as discussions on cooperation in innovation, advanced technologies, sustainability and food supply chains.
The Ambassador noted that the Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in Paris was committed to supporting national participation in economic and commercial events hosted by the French Republic. It also worked to strengthen communication between Omani institutions and companies and their French counterparts.
Engineer Dawood bin Salim Al Hadabi, Chief Executive Officer of the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates, Madayn, and Chairman of the Omani Products Promotion Supervisory Committee, OPEX, said Oman’s first participation in SIAL Paris represented an important step in the Committee’s efforts to expand the international promotion of national products and diversify target markets.
He said this was particularly important for the food industry, which is experiencing rapid developments in innovation, manufacturing and marketing. The participation also promotes investment opportunities available in Oman’s industrial cities, helping to attract and localise investment.
Al Hadabi explained that the Omani pavilion provided a platform to showcase Oman’s industrial and production capabilities and highlight the quality and competitiveness of national products. It also gave participating companies opportunities to meet importers, distributors and international buyers directly and explore commercial cooperation and partnerships that could increase Omani exports and help them reach new markets.
Al Hadabi said the food industry was one of the promising industrial sectors receiving particular attention from Madayn because of its pivotal role in strengthening food security, diversifying the production base and developing national exports.
He noted that by the end of the first half of 2026, Madayn’s industrial cities hosted approximately 111 food industry projects, with investments exceeding OMR 230 million.
He said these figures reflected the development of Oman’s food industry and highlighted the importance of continuing to support national factories and enable them to expand into regional and global markets. He also highlighted the value of specialised international exhibitions, particularly SIAL Paris 2026, in building new commercial partnerships and enhancing the competitiveness of Omani products.
These efforts align with Oman Vision 2040’s objectives of building a diversified and sustainable economy, increasing the private sector’s contribution, developing non-oil exports and strengthening Oman’s position in global value chains and trade.
