Foreign Minister meets Minister of Foreign Affairs of Rwanda

Foreign Minister, Sayyid Badr Albusaidi, met with Olivier J.P. Nduhungirehe, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of Rwanda, at Al Hosn Palace in Salalah. The meeting took place as part of the official visit of President Paul Kagame of Rwanda to the Sultanate of Oman.

The two Ministers agreed to establish a follow-up programme for the outcomes of the visit. They also discussed the growing relations between the two countries and ways to build on their current momentum, with the aim of developing a more diverse and interconnected partnership based on mutual investment, the development of value-added projects and stronger economic and logistics links between Oman and Rwanda.

They also discussed opportunities to translate existing understandings and agreements into practical programmes and projects in priority sectors, and to encourage partnerships between public and private sector institutions. This would broaden shared economic interests and open new areas for trade, investment and knowledge exchange.

The two Ministers conferred on a number of regional and international issues of common interest. They agreed on the importance of continuing consultation and coordination, while making use of the two countries’ locations and capabilities to build broader bridges of cooperation and communication between Oman and East Africa.
