The second round of political consultations between the Foreign Ministries of Oman and the Republic of Kazakhstan took place in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan.
The Omani delegation was led by Sheikh Khalifa Alharthy, Undersecretary for Political Affairs at the Foreign Ministry, while the Kazakh delegation was headed by Arman Issagaliyev, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The consultations reviewed aspects of bilateral cooperation, and assessed the steps taken to enhance trade and investment exchange between the two countries. The two delegations also reviewed existing agreements and memoranda of understanding, as well as those currently being finalised.
Theyalso exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual interest.
On the sidelines of the consultations, Sheikh Khalifa Alharthy met with Alibek Kuantyrov, the Kazakh Chair of the Oman-Kazakhstan Joint Committee. They discussed matters related to bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
Sheikh Khalifa also visited the International Center for Artificial Intelligence in the capital, Astana, and met with a number of officials from the Islamic Organisation for Food Security. The meetings explored opportunities for cooperation and the exchange of expertise in areas of mutual interest.
A number of officials from both countries attended the consultations and meetings.
