The Sultanate of Oman and the Islamic Republic of Iran held talks in Muscat on maritime navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, focusing on ensuring its safety and freedom in light of recent developments and their consequences.

The talks were chaired by Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi and Dr Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Foreign Minister of Iran.

The Ministers agreed to continue the discussions at both the political and technical levels to reach the necessary understandings in accordance with international law.
