His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik received at Al Barakah Palace President Duma Gideon Boko of the Republic of Botswana, on the occasion of his working visit to the Sultanate of Oman.
His Majesty the Sultan welcomed the President and his accompanying delegation, wishing them a pleasant stay and a fruitful visit. The President expressed his profound delight over this visit.
A session of official talks was then held, chaired by His Majesty and President Boko. The talks explored avenues of cooperation between the two countries across various fields, with a view to promoting their mutual interests.
The session was attended from Oman by His Highness Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs; Sultan bin Salim Al Habsi, Minister of Finance; Dr Hamad bin Said Al Aufi, Head of the Private Office; Abdulsalam bin Mohammed Al Murshidi, President of the Oman Investment Authority, Engineer Salim bin Nasser Al Aufi, Minister of Energy and Minerals; Mulhim bin Basheer Al Jaraf, Deputy Chairman for Investment of Oman Investment Authority and Muneer bin Ali Al Muneeri, Deputy Chairman for Operations of the Oman Investment Authority
From Botswana the talks were attended by the Chief of Military Intelligence and Adviser to the President on Military Affairs; the Minister of Presidential Investments, the Special Representative of the President and a number of officials.
President Boko arrived in Oman on Sunday night. He was received upon arrival at the VIP hall of Muscat International Airport by the President of the Oman Investment Authority, along with several officials.
