The Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry will convene the Oman-Belarus Business Forum on Thursday April 2 to promote economic and trade cooperation and explore joint investment opportunities.
Shaikh Faisal Abdullah Al-Rawas, Chairman of the Board of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), said that organising the Forum marks an important step toward strengthening the presence of the Omani private sector in international markets and opening new horizons for economic cooperation with Belarus.
He explained that the Forum provides an opportunity for business owners and investors from both countries to explore investment prospects and build quality partnerships in vital sectors. He noted that the Chamber seeks to enable the private sector to benefit from such events in order to enhance competitiveness and expand business activities.
The Chairman of the OCCI added that direct bilateral meetings between companies represent one of the Forum’s key projected outcomes. These meetings help to turn opportunities into tangible projects and support the growth of Omani exports by bringing together representatives of companies and institutions from both countries to build new commercial and investment partnerships. They also facilitate the exchange of knowledge and expertise, which will positively contribute to national economic development and economic diversification.
The Forum welcomes producers, exporters and wholesale trading companies, along with entities and institutions involved in promoting international trade. It will cover key sectors including food security and agriculture, engineering industries, furniture, pharmaceuticals, information technology, tourism, banking services and logistics.
The Business Forum will also feature presentations from Oman highlighting investment opportunities. Similarly, the Belarus delegation will deliver a series of presentations focusing on growth areas and promising sectors for bilateral cooperation. The programme will also review ways to develop shipping routes between the two countries and strengthen banking cooperation and payment mechanisms.
These efforts aim to expand the volume of trade and strengthen economic relations between Oman and Belarus.
