His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik received, at Al Baraka Palace in Muscat, Dr Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Egyptian Expatriates of the Arab Republic of Egypt .

Dr Abdelatty conveyed the greetings of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, to His Majesty, and his good wishes for his health and wellbeing, as well as to the Omani people for progress and prosperity.

His Majesty asked the guest to convey his greetings and best wishes to the President of Egypt for continued health and happiness, and to the brotherly Egyptian people for lasting progress and prosperity.

The meeting reviewed developments in the region in light of the continuing escalation of military operations and the resulting targeting of states’ interests and violations of their sovereignty.

Both countries affirmed the importance of unifying regional and international efforts to contain tensions, calm the situation and work towards halting escalation, in a way that contributes to strengthening security and stability at the regional and international levels.

The meeting was attended by Oman’s Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi and Yasser Mohamed Shaaban, Egypt’s Ambassador to Oman.
