The Foreign Ministry of Oman expresses the Sultanate of Oman’s deep regrets at the military operations launched by Israel and the United States against the Islamic Republic of Iran, and warns of the grave risk of the conflict widening with dire consequences for the region.
Oman considers these actions to be in violation of international law and the principle of resolving disputes through peaceful means rather than hostility and bloodshed.
We call on all parties to immediately suspend military operations and urge the United Nations Security Council to convene an urgent meeting to impose a ceasefire and for the international community to take a clear stance in support of international law.
Oman reaffirms the right of states to self-defence under international law, while simultaneously calling for restraint and a commitment to dialogue and diplomacy.
