Minister holds phone calls with GCC counterparts on US Iran Talks

Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi held telephone calls with Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar; Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates; Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al Ahmad Al Sabah, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Kuwait; and Dr Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The calls focused on briefing the Ministers on the key positive outcomes of the indirect Iran–US negotiations. They discussed the importance of maintaining momentum and supporting diplomatic efforts aimed at de escalation and enhancing prospects for security, stability and peace in the region.

The discussions also addressed developing a new mechanism for joint regional dialogue on economic and security cooperation.

The Ministers affirmed their shared commitment to continued coordination. They agreed on the importance of intensifying consultations during this delicate phase in the region. They noted that closer cooperation can help address pressing concerns and can open a new chapter of constructive regional collaboration for the benefit and prosperity of all the countries and peoples of the region.
