Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi met in Geneva with Dr Abbas Araghchi, Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran to discuss preparations for the second round of indirect Iran-US talks to be held in Geneva on Tuesday.
During the meeting, both Ministers affirmed the need to advance understanding and consensus in order to reach an agreement that meets the goals and aspirations of the parties to these negotiations.
Sayyid Badr reiterated Oman’s firm commitment to supporting dialogue and diplomacy, and its keenness to continue contributing to efforts that promote security, peace, and stability, in order to spare the region and its people the ravages of war and conflict.
He expressed his deep appreciation for the trust placed by the parties in Oman’s mediation, adding that Oman takes this responsibility very seriously. Various officials from both Oman and Iran attended the meeting.
