The first round of political consultations between the Sultanate of Oman and the Slovak Republic was held at the Foreign Ministry in Muscat.

The Omani delegation was headed by Sheikh Khalifa Alharthy, Foreign Ministry Undersecretary for Political Affairs. The Slovak delegation was headed by Marek Eštok, State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs.

The consultations reviewed relations between the two friendly countries and discussed avenues for cooperation in various areas, including investment, culture, tourism and the opening of direct air routes between the two countries. The meeting also saw a discussion of regional and international issues of common interest.

The session was attended by Inka Mihalíková, Slovakia’s Ambassador to Egypt, along with a number of officials from both countries.
