A consular consultations meeting took place between the Sultanate of Oman and the United Arab Emirates.
The meeting held in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, reflected the depth of relations between Oman and the UAE and confirmed their ongoing keenness to broaden co-operation to serve the interests of the two countries and brotherly peoples.
The meeting was held within the framework of the firm fraternal relations between the two countries and their shared keenness to strengthen co-operation, particularly in consular matters.
Sheikh Khalid Almuslahi, Foreign Ministry Undersecretary for Administrative and Financial Affairs headed the Omani delegation. Ambassador Omar bin Obaid Al Shamsi, Undersecretary at the UAE’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, headed the UAE delegation.
The meeting discussed existing consular co-operation between the two countries and ways to develop and strengthen it. The two delegations discussed mechanisms to follow up on the implementation of joint initiatives, in line with both countries’ aspirations to enhance consular services and deliver them with high efficiency and effectiveness.
The meeting affirmed the importance of continuing co-ordination, consultations and the exchange of expertise, in order to strengthen the efficiency of consular work and deliver high-quality services that meet the needs of citizens in both countries.
