Oman and Bahrain explore strengthening partnership
The Omani-Bahraini Economic Forum, organised by the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), discussed enhancing joint economic and investment cooperation and exploring partnership opportunities across multiple sectors.
These sectors include construction and real estate, banking and finance, industry and energy, food, telecommunications and technology, retail, the health sector, strategic investments, commercial markets, and transport and logistics services.
Faisal Abdullah Al Rowas, Chairman of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, affirmed that relations between Oman and Bahrain are distinguished by their deep historical roots and strong fraternal ties, which have had a positive impact on economic cooperation between the two countries.
He noted that the forum reflects the commitment of both countries to enhance alignment between Oman Vision 2040 and Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030, opening up new horizons for partnership and joint investment.
Dr Jumaa Ahmed Al Kaabi, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Sultanate of Oman, said that holding the Oman–Bahrain Economic Forum represents an important opportunity to strengthen economic and investment cooperation between the two brotherly countries.
He noted that Omani–Bahraini relations are built on solid foundations of fraternity and complementarity.
Khalid Mohamed Yusuf Najibi, First Vice Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, affirmed that the Oman–Bahrain Forum provides an effective platform to strengthen economic cooperation between the two brotherly countries.
He added that the forum embodies the noble directives of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to advance relations towards broader horizons of integration and prosperity.
Saud bin Ahmed Al Nahari, Chairman of the Oman–Bahrain Investment Company, explained that the company’s work plan aims to invest in several sectors, including tourism, mining, food security, manufacturing, information technology and artificial intelligence.
During the forum, the incentives, services, and investment opportunities provided by the Sultanate of Oman and the Kingdom of Bahrain for investors were showcased. A dialogue session titled “The Reality and Prospects of Economic Integration and Cooperation Between the Sultanate of Oman and the Kingdom of Bahrain” was also held, featuring a selection of private sector representatives from both countries. The session addressed the current state of economic relations, the challenges facing the realisation of integration, and how to encourage partnerships between private sector companies and SMEs in both countries, particularly in joint projects that combine Omani and Bahraini capabilities.
On the margins of the forum, meetings were held between Omani business owners and their Bahraini counterparts to explore partnership opportunities and exchange experiences.
