His Majesty meets UK Prime Minister

His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik met with Sir Keir Starmer, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom (UK) at the Prime Minister’s Office in London.

The meeting reviewed aspects of existing cooperation and underscored a mutual commitment to strengthening the foundations of the strategic partnership between the UK and the Sultanate of Oman and to expanding its scope across various economic, investment, and trade sectors. This aligns with the shared interests and the aspirations of the peoples of both countries for further progress and prosperity.

The meeting also addressed several regional and international issues. His Majesty welcomed the United Kingdom’s intention to recognise the Palestinian state, reaffirming Oman’s steadfast support for all efforts leading to a just and comprehensive peace in accordance with international legitimacy and the two-state solution.

The UK Prime Minister expressed his country’s deep appreciation for the constructive role of Oman, under the leadership of His Majesty, in advocating dialogue and peace, and enhancing regional and international security and stability.

The meeting was attended from Oman  by Sayyid Badr Albusaidi, Foreign Minister; Dr Hamad  Alaufi, Head of the Private Office; and Badr Almantheri, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

From the UK it was attended by Jonathan Powell, UK National Security Advisor and Dr Liane Saunders, the UK's Ambassador to Oman.
