Oman condemns ongoing regional escalation caused by Israel

23 June 2025

An official spokesperson at the Foreign Ministry expressed the Sultanate of Oman’s condemnation of the ongoing regional escalation triggered by Israel’s unlawful missile attack on the Islamic Republic of Iran on June 13, and the continued exchange of missile strikes since then.

This includes the recent Iranian missile bombardment of sovereign sites in the sisterly State of Qatar, which Oman regards as an unacceptable and condemns as an act that violates the sovereignty of a fellow Gulf Cooperation Council member state, contravenes the principles of good neighbourliness, and risks expanding a futile conflict that will only bring further harm, destruction, and the erosion of security, stability, and the safety of the region's peoples.

The Foreign Ministry affirms Oman’s solidarity with Qatar and its support for any measures it takes to safeguard its security and stability.

The Ministry also calls for an immediate halt to all military and missile actions, and urges the adoption of wisdom through peaceful negotiations and adherence to international law in addressing the causes of the conflict and in reaching a just settlement through legitimate means.
