A joint training programme for new diplomats from the Foreign Ministries of the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Uzbekistan began in Tashkent at the Diplomatic Academy of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy.

The programme aims to exchange expertise and enhance the experiences and skills of participants in international relations and foreign policy, with a focus on issues related to Central Asia and Uzbekistan.

The opening ceremony was attended from Uzbekistan by the Vice President of the University, the Head of the Academy, and a number of academics and officials from the Uzbek Foreign Ministry.

Oman's Ambassador to Uzbekistan, AlSayyida Wafa Albusaidi, delivered a speech highlighting the role of joint programmes in deepening relations between the two countries.

Ambassador Sheikh Ahmed Almaskari, Head of the Oman Foreign Ministry's Department for the GCC and region, also delivered a speech in which he underlined the importance of the programme in developing the competencies of new diplomats.
