Agreement signed to develop electronic tax system for Oman
The Tax Authority in Muscat signed an agreement with Nortal to develop an electronic tax management system.
The agreement focuses on building an advanced tax system which will automate tax collection processes, reduce human intervention and improve data accuracy. It will also apply artificial intelligence to provide advanced analytical tools which will help detect tax evasion and identify gaps. The system will also strengthen fairness among taxpayers.
The step supports efforts to modernise the tax framework and advance digital transformation in line with leading global practices in technology governance.

The agreement was signed by Nasser Al Jashmi, Chairman of the Tax Authority, and Tommy Bosco, Business Partner at Nortal.
